The short version

There are no accounts, so there is nothing to sign up with and nothing tied to your identity. The URLs you convert are not linked to you, not stored in a database, and not sold or shared.

What we process

  • The URL you submit. It is sent to our server so the page can be fetched and converted. It is used for that request and for the short-lived cache described below.
  • The converted output. Held in server memory for about fifteen minutes so that a repeat request for the same page returns instantly. It is never written to disk or to a database, and it is discarded when that window expires or the server restarts.
  • Your IP address. Used only to enforce the rate limit of twenty conversions per minute. It is held in memory alongside a counter and expires within a minute. It is not logged against the URLs you convert.

What we don't do

  • We do not require or collect an email address.
  • We do not build a profile of what you read.
  • We do not republish, index or redistribute the content of pages you convert.
  • We do not sell data to anyone.

Pasting or uploading a page

When you convert a page by pasting or uploading it, nothing is sent to us at all. The extraction runs inside your browser, so the content never reaches our servers — we could not log what you read that way even if we wanted to.

  • The page you paste, and any .html file you choose, stay on your machine. They are read in the browser tab and discarded when you leave the page.
  • This holds for subscriber content too: an article you paste from a publication you pay for is never transmitted to us.
  • Only the URL converter sends anything to our server, and what it does with that is described above.

Cookies

The tool itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics that identify you. Your toggle preferences live in the page while you have it open and are not persisted.

Advertising

This site is free and intends to carry advertising to cover its running costs. At the time of writing no advertising network is active and no third-party advertising scripts are loaded.

When advertising is enabled, a third-party network — Google AdSense — may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and may process your IP address and browsing activity under its own privacy policy. This page will be updated to name the network and link to its policy before any such script is served. Advertising will remain standard display and native formats; there will be no popups, popunders, interstitials or redirects.

Third parties

The site is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard request metadata such as IP address and user agent in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse, under its own privacy policy.

When you convert a page, our server makes a request to that page's website. That site will see our server's request, not yours — your own IP address is not passed on to it.

Your rights

Because we hold no account data and nothing that identifies you, there is generally no personal data to access, correct or erase. If you believe we hold something about you, write to us and we will look into it.

Changes

If this policy changes materially — particularly around advertising or storage — the date at the top of this page will change with it.
